Adam Vasquez grew up in the Baltimore area and earned his undergraduate degree in cardiovascular engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1995. After several unsuccessful job referrals, Vasquez first worked as a research engineer at Symantec, where he joined the company's product development team in 1998. later he joined Harrisburg-based Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in 2000 as the company's marketing director. From there, Vasquez moved up the ladder, becoming the company's first global director of digital in 2001 and then its senior vice president and general manager for digital products in 2002. In his most recent position, Vasquez served as the company's CEO from October 2011 to January 2014. During his tenure, the company went from being a midsize local provider of telecommunications services to becoming the second largest provider of broadband and fiber-optic services in the United States.Between 2001 and 2002, Vasquez also worked as a consultant for Harrisburg-based Robbins-Gioia. During this time, he helped invent the Program Management Consulting and Connectivity markets.
