Having taken a long and twisty road to software development, I'm currently engaged as a ruby/rails developer.
Ruby Developer @ Society of Grownups is a learning initiative focused solely on helping people through the challenges and changes in life that that everyone assumes "everyone else" has figured out.
My technical responsibilities include maintenance and improvement of a legacy rails application, and its conversion from application to stateless service.
My non-technical responsibilities are par-for-the-course small company: involvement with hiring, culture, and filling in when it's needed. From April 2015 to Present (9 months) Software Developer @ From March 2014 to April 2015 (1 year 2 months) Quality Assurance @ From April 2012 to March 2014 (2 years) Technical Services @ From April 2011 to January 2012 (10 months) Research Associate I @ Surface modification and testing of proprietary ultra-high-throughput PCR plates (OpenArray)
-Temporary Position From March 2010 to January 2011 (11 months) Research Intern @ My work consisted of growth of differentially-terminated alkanethiol monolayers on metallic substrates. These monolayers were used for epitaxial control of the growth of calcite crystals with subsequent analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). From June 2008 to August 2008 (3 months) R&D Intern @ I prepared ultra-small paramagnetic iron oxide particles using proprietary methods. I then analyzed the particles by size-exclusion high performance liquid chromatography (SE-HPLC) in order to carry out a parametric study of the kinetics of formation for these particles. From June 2007 to August 2007 (3 months)
