About Yussef Leon

Yussef Leon is a dynamic Data Scientist at Globant, where he leverages his extensive expertise in machine learning and MLOps to drive impactful data-driven solutions. With a robust background in Python, PySpark, and cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, Yussef excels in building scalable models that address complex business challenges. One of his hallmark projects involved the development of a user classification model that effectively differentiates between Fans and Not Fans. This initiative not only expanded the dataset from approximately 500,000 to an impressive 55 million records across eight diverse data sources but also achieved remarkable performance metrics, including a 93% ROC-AUC and a 90% F1-score using XGBoost.

Yussef's commitment to continuous improvement is evident in his iterative approach to model performance enhancement, utilizing Databricks’ MLflow for meticulous tracking and Hyperopt for optimization. His proficiency in A/B testing, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) further complements his skill set, enabling him to extract meaningful insights from vast datasets. Additionally, his dual qualifications—a Master’s degree in Data Science and an MBA—equip him with a unique blend of technical acumen and business insight, allowing him to bridge the gap between data science and strategic decision-making.

As Yussef continues to innovate at Globant, he remains dedicated to harnessing the power of data to drive business growth and improve user engagement. His expertise in tools like Docker, Flask, and Tableau, combined with his analytical skills and adherence to ISO 9001 standards, positions him as a key contributor to the evolving landscape of data science and machine learning.
