Youngmin Kim

Young-min Kim, currently serving as the Director of the R&D Center at Daewoong Bio Inc., plays a pivotal role in advancing the company's capabilities in the development and manufacturing of innovative small molecule therapeutics. With a comprehensive background in process and analytical method development, Young-min leads cutting-edge projects focused on the synthesis and optimization of New Chemical Entities (NCEs) within the CDMO and CMO frameworks. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of techniques, including HPLC, GC, IPC/MS, and LCMSMS, which are essential for ensuring the quality and consistency of both non-GMP and GMP production processes.

At Daewoong Bio, Young-min oversees the development of process chemistry and analytical methods for a diverse portfolio of compounds such as Camostat MSA, Sapogrelate HCl, UDCA, CDCA, CNU, BDD, Sitagliptin, and Bazedoxifen. His proficiency in flow chemistry and enzymatic synthesis enables the company to innovate in process intensification and sustainable manufacturing practices. He has successfully managed pilot plant operations ranging from 30L to 500L at low temperatures (-70°C) and scaled-up production in 1,000L to 10,000L manufacturing facilities, utilizing advanced equipment like filter dryers to meet stringent quality standards.

Young-min’s strategic focus on CMC documentation, including CTD submissions, ensures regulatory compliance and smooth approval pathways for new drug applications. His leadership in process development, coupled with his expertise in GMP production and non-GMP process optimization, positions Daewoong Bio as a leader in the industry. His deep understanding of chemical process development, analytical chemistry, and regulatory requirements makes him a key driver in delivering high-quality, innovative therapeutics to the market.
