Thomas Gisel is a seasoned Mechanical Designer and Engineer at Osprey Medical, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing medical device technology aimed at improving outcomes for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). As a consultant in R&D and Manufacturing Engineering, Thomas leverages his extensive expertise in concept prototype design and development to drive innovative solutions from initial concept through to commercialization. His work is instrumental in the development of cutting-edge devices that mitigate contrast-induced Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), a critical concern in CKD patient care.

At Osprey Medical, Thomas is deeply involved in key projects that focus on enhancing product design while ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 standards. His proficiency in multiple CAD platforms, particularly SolidWorks, allows him to create detailed designs that adhere to rigorous geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards. He is adept at conducting mechanical and endurance testing, as well as cadaveric testing, to validate product performance and safety.
