Theodore Elsner

Since joining the Kansas City Royals organization in February 2022, Theodore Elsner has quickly established himself as a dedicated and innovative Strength and Conditioning Coach with a focus on optimizing athlete performance across various developmental levels. Currently assigned to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at the Double-A level, Theodore leverages his extensive expertise in strength training, injury prevention, and athletic performance enhancement to support the team's emerging talent. His role involves designing and implementing sport-specific conditioning programs that improve players' power, speed, agility, and endurance, all while prioritizing athlete safety and injury mitigation.

Throughout his tenure with the Royals, Theodore has demonstrated a keen ability to tailor training regimens to meet the unique demands of each developmental stage, from Rookie ball with the AZL Royals to Low-A with the Columbia Fireflies, and now at the AA level. His approach integrates evidence-based practices in strength and conditioning, utilizing tools such as functional movement assessments, periodization strategies, and advanced recovery techniques to maximize player readiness. Additionally, Theodore’s proficiency in CPR, AED, and first aid underscores his commitment to athlete safety both on and off the field.

By collaborating closely with coaching staff and sports medicine professionals, Theodore ensures that training programs are aligned with team goals and individual athlete needs. His problem-solving skills and proficiency in data analysis through tools like Microsoft Excel allow him to monitor progress, adjust protocols dynamically, and track performance metrics effectively.
