Sukhada Bhide

Sukhada Bhide is a dedicated aspiring sports psychologist currently contributing her expertise at the Institute of Sports Science & Technology (ISST) as part of the Humans In Sports initiative. In her role, she actively engages in research, documentation, and organization of projects aimed at understanding the psychological dynamics of athletes across various levels. Her work involves conducting interviews with athletes, analyzing their mental resilience, and developing tailored mental conditioning programs to enhance performance. Sukhada’s keen interest in sports psychology is complemented by her strong background in management and event organization, allowing her to coordinate workshops, seminars, and grassroots outreach programs effectively.

At ISST, she is involved in key projects that focus on mental health, motivation, and performance optimization for emerging athletes. Her expertise in sports psychology, combined with her experience as a professional karateka holding a 4th dan black belt and her participation in world championships, provides her with a unique perspective on the mental and physical demands faced by athletes. Her academic pursuits, including her ongoing PG Diploma in Sports Psychology, further deepen her understanding of psychological theories and their practical applications in sports.

Sukhada’s open-mindedness, sincerity, and strong observation skills enable her to connect with athletes at the grassroots level, fostering a supportive environment for mental growth. Her goal is to nurture future Indian sports stars by integrating sports psychology into grassroots training programs, ultimately aiming to elevate India’s standing in international sports.
