Technician Supervisor at San Francisco Animal Medical Center | Oakland, California, United States

About Serae Edwards

Serae Edwards serves as the Technician Supervisor at the San Francisco Animal Medical Center, where she plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the emergency department. With a strong foundation in veterinary technology, Serae is expected to graduate in June 2017, bringing a wealth of knowledge in animal restraint, venipuncture, and radiography to her position. Her expertise extends beyond technical skills; she excels in client communications and has a deep understanding of dog etiquette, which enhances the overall experience for both pets and their owners during high-stress situations.

In her supervisory role, Serae is responsible for training and onboarding new technicians, developing and implementing protocols that ensure the highest standards of care. She skillfully manages scheduling and oversees the flow of the emergency room, stepping in to lead when ER leads are unavailable. This requires not only exceptional time management but also creative problem-solving abilities, as Serae must quickly adapt to the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of emergency veterinary care.

Collaboration is key in her role, and Serae works closely with three other supervisors to maintain a cohesive and efficient team environment. Her leadership style fosters teamwork and motivates her colleagues to perform at their best, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate care. With a calm demeanor and a focus on strategic planning, Serae Edwards is not only a vital asset to the San Francisco Animal Medical Center but also a dedicated advocate for the well-being of animals and their owners in the community.
