Sande Bruch

Sande Bruch is a multifaceted visual artist whose practice seamlessly integrates painting, printmaking, and poetic expression to create compelling and thought-provoking works. Currently serving as an Artist in Residence at the Firestation Print Studio, Sande has established a dynamic presence within the contemporary printmaking community, leveraging her expertise in solar printing, woodblock techniques, and monoprinting to push the boundaries of traditional and experimental art forms. Her residency at Portland Print Studio, awarded in 2016 and 2019, provided a fertile environment for collaborative projects and innovative explorations in public art and murals, where she often incorporates collage and gouache to develop layered, textured compositions.

Sande’s work is characterized by a deep engagement with themes of renewal, spirituality, and cultural identity, which is reflected in her role as a Shabbat renewal facilitator and her curatorial projects that explore the intersection of art and community. Her proficiency in framing, brooch making, and mural creation complements her studio practice, allowing her to produce both intimate works and large-scale public art installations. As a poet and meditation facilitator, Sande brings a contemplative dimension to her visual art, often integrating poetic texts into her print and collage works to evoke introspection and dialogue.
