Roy Rus

Roy Rus currently serves as a Lecturer and Researcher in Finance & Economics at Hanzehogeschool Groningen’s International Business School, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of finance professionals. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of financial markets, including equities, derivatives, and capital markets, with a particular focus on emerging and frontier markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Mahgreb, and Asia. Roy’s research delves into the complexities of international financial management, asset management, and securities trading, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of global financial dynamics.

In his current role, Roy is actively involved in developing innovative teaching methodologies, including the use of TOPSIM simulations for planning and control, to enhance practical understanding of corporate finance and financial accounting. He mentors students through honours talent programmes, guiding them on complex topics like stock markets, mutual funds, and private banking, while also supervising placements abroad and study abroad programs to foster international exposure. His industry experience and academic insights enable him to bridge theory and practice effectively, equipping students with skills in securities trading, derivatives, and asset management.

As a member of the School Representative Council and Graduation Project Committee, he actively contributes to curriculum development and academic excellence.
