Roberto Capretta

Roberto Capretta currently serves as the Senior Production Audio Mixer at CBC, where he plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality broadcast audio for some of Canada's most prominent live and recorded productions. His extensive expertise in professional audio, combined with a deep understanding of broadcast television workflows, positions him as a key contributor to CBC’s reputation for technical excellence. In this role, Roberto oversees complex audio operations for a diverse range of programming, including live sports events, award shows, and national celebrations, ensuring pristine sound quality that enhances viewer engagement and maintains broadcast standards.

His recent projects include mixing for flagship sports broadcasts such as Hockey Night in Canada, the Stanley Cup Finals, and Olympic coverage from Sochi, Rio, and PyeongChang. Roberto’s proficiency with industry-standard tools like Pro Tools and Fairlight allows him to seamlessly handle sound design, mixing, and editing for both live and post-production environments. His background in sound design and audio post-production enables him to craft immersive audio experiences, whether capturing the energy of a live event or refining the final mix for broadcast.

Roberto’s leadership as Head Audio Supervisor for the PanAm 2015 Toronto Games and his role as Audio Supervisor for the Rio Olympics exemplify his ability to manage large-scale productions under tight deadlines.
