Ray Dea is currently serving as a Market Risk Intern at CMB International, where he plays a vital role in supporting the bank’s risk management and trading operations. In this position, Ray is responsible for conducting comprehensive fixed income counterparty risk analysis, which involves assessing the creditworthiness of counterparties and monitoring exposure levels to mitigate potential financial risks. His daily tasks include preparing detailed reports on margin financing activities, ensuring compliance with internal risk policies and regulatory standards. Leveraging his proficiency in Bloomberg terminals, Ray extracts and analyzes equity and fixed income data, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights through advanced Excel modeling and VBA automation. His expertise in data extraction and visualization enables the team to make informed decisions swiftly, enhancing the bank’s risk mitigation strategies.

Ray’s background in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong provides him with a solid foundation in financial modeling, risk assessment, and quantitative analysis. His technical skill set, which includes Python, C++, and VBA, allows him to develop innovative solutions for data analysis and process automation. Additionally, his familiarity with IFRS 17 and accounting principles ensures he understands the regulatory and financial reporting implications of risk management activities. Ray’s passion for finance and investment is evident in his proactive approach to acquiring new skills and his eagerness to contribute to complex projects.
