Purity Kosgei

Purity J. Kosgei currently serves as the Community Epidemic and Pandemic Prevention Programme Officer at Kenya Red Cross, where she plays a pivotal role in strengthening community-based health initiatives. Her expertise lies in designing and implementing data-driven strategies that enhance epidemic preparedness and response at the grassroots level. In this capacity, Purity has led several key projects focused on disease surveillance, community engagement, and health promotion, leveraging her proficiency in data analytics, SQL, Python, and Tableau to inform decision-making processes.

One of her notable achievements includes the training and capacity-building of over 200 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) on Community-Based Surveillance (CBS) and Epidemic Prevention and Control (EPIC). These training sessions have empowered CHPs to accurately detect early signs of infectious diseases, including zoonotic threats, and respond swiftly to emerging health crises. Purity’s work involves developing comprehensive dashboards that visualize real-time health data, enabling rapid response coordination and resource allocation. Her expertise in ETL processes ensures that data collected from diverse community sources is clean, integrated, and actionable.

Moreover, Purity’s role extends to coordinating community health promotion campaigns, organizing health education events, and facilitating cross-sector collaborations to bolster epidemic resilience.
