About Perry Obee

Perry Obee, a distinguished Tamarind Master Printer and accomplished Fine Artist, currently operates as a self-employed creative professional based in Black Mountain, North Carolina. In his current role, Perry leverages over 15 years of specialized experience in fine art printmaking, collaborating closely with professional artists to produce innovative and technically refined works. His expertise spans traditional printmaking techniques such as lithography, intaglio, and relief printing—skills honed through a rigorous nine-year apprenticeship with a Tamarind Master Printer. This extensive training allows him to execute complex projects involving stone and plate lithography, paper making, and adhesive processes with precision and artistic sensitivity.

At the core of Perry’s practice is a dedication to pushing the boundaries of contemporary art through meticulous craftsmanship and innovative techniques. His key projects often involve large-scale print editions, experimental print series, and collaborative ventures that explore the intersection of fine art, graphic design, and mixed media. As an educator, Perry shares his deep knowledge of printmaking, design, and project management with students and emerging artists, fostering a new generation of creative professionals.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Perry’s skills in project management, inventory management, and new business development have been instrumental in establishing and maintaining his independent practice. His ability to manage complex workflows, coordinate client commissions, and maintain high standards of customer service ensures the successful delivery of each project.
