Fairfield University is a Jesuit Catholic institution that prepares undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and continuing education students for leadership and service in a constantly changing world. Over 5,800 students from 35 states, 46 countries, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico are enrolled at the University's five schools. The University was founded in 1942 in the scenic shoreline community of Fairfield, Connecticut. Fairfield University is committed to encouraging diversity in its student population and dedicated to the notion of cura personalis - a commitment to caring for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Put it all together and you get an inspiring education that prepares you for an inspired life. At Fairfield, we're committed to every aspect of your education, including what happens after you graduate. We want to provide you with a return on your investment by helping you find a career you're passionate about pursuing. The Career Planning Center offers many services to assist students and alumni at any stage of their career development process and maintains strong partnerships with companies that regularly hire Fairfield graduates. Fairfield’s campus is conveniently located an hour from New York City, two hours from Boston, and 30 minutes from Stamford and New Haven, Conn., allowing students to seek internships and employment in a variety of locations. After graduation, students join a strong network of 40,000 successful and passionate Fairfield alumni. In fact, last year’s post-grad summary reported that 98% of the Class of 2013 were employed, in graduate school, or in a volunteer or service program within six months of graduation. They and all alumni are welcomed back to campus as a member of the Fairfield University family, and invited to join one of 10 alumni chapters and regional groups across the country.
