Parth Garud

Parth Garud is a dedicated fourth-year aerospace engineering student with a burgeoning passion for experimental rocketry and systems engineering. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Georgia Tech Experimental Rocketry, Parth plays a pivotal role in advancing the club’s innovative projects, including supersonic rockets and high-altitude balloon missions. In this leadership position, he oversees the integration of complex subsystems, ensuring that design, testing, and operational procedures align with rigorous safety and performance standards. His expertise in requirements management is demonstrated through his responsibility for writing, tracing, and verifying over 500 technical requirements across multiple vehicle platforms, including space-shot systems, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), and hybrid motor teams. Parth’s role involves meticulous project planning, documentation standardization, and timeline management, which are critical for successful project execution within a six-figure budget.

His current research focuses on developing innovative methods to mitigate aero-heating and prevent aerodynamic fin flutter in supersonic rocketry—an area that combines experimental design, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis. Leveraging his skills in optoelectronics, electronic instrumentation, and Python programming, Parth conducts detailed simulations and experimental testing to optimize vehicle performance under extreme conditions. His proficiency in fiber optics and data acquisition systems further enhances his ability to analyze high-speed aerodynamic phenomena. Through his work at Georgia Tech Experimental Rocketry, Parth is honing his skills in project engineering, systems integration, and technical communication, positioning himself as a future leader in aerospace innovation. His hands-on experience with complex aerospace systems, combined with his analytical and problem-solving skills, underscores his commitment to advancing the field of experimental rocketry and aerospace engineering.
