Michael Lock

Michael James Lock currently serves as the Senior HR Operations Manager at air up®, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's human resources strategies amidst its rapid international expansion. Leveraging his extensive expertise in HR operations, payroll management, and employee lifecycle support, Michael ensures that the HR functions run seamlessly across multiple European markets, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Italy. His deep understanding of employment law, visa processes, and relocation procedures enables him to facilitate smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences for a diverse, global workforce.

In his current role, Michael is instrumental in supporting the P&C Leadership Team by streamlining HR administrative processes, issuing employment contracts, and managing amendments to employment agreements. His hands-on approach to payroll preparation and approval ensures compliance with local regulations while maintaining accuracy and timeliness—critical factors for a fast-growing company like air up®. Additionally, his fluency in German and other foreign languages enhances communication with international employees, fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
