Mia Potter

Mia Potter serves as the Studios Student Advisor at North Carolina State University's Wilson College of Textiles, where she plays a pivotal role in fostering creativity and technical proficiency among fashion and textile students. In her current role, Mia acts as a dedicated mentor and resource, guiding students through a diverse array of project-based learning experiences that encompass 3D printing, Cricut printing, laser cutting and engraving, soldering, sewing, and embroidery. Her expertise in these areas enables her to provide hands-on support, ensuring students develop both their technical skills and their understanding of innovative design processes. Mia’s approach emphasizes excellent customer service, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment where students feel empowered to experiment and refine their ideas.

Beyond technical guidance, Mia is instrumental in introducing students to a variety of creative software tools essential for modern fashion and textile development. Her knowledge of product development, product design, and research skills helps students translate their concepts into tangible prototypes, preparing them for industry challenges. Her proficiency in sewing machine troubleshooting, consumer textiles, and color theory further enhances her ability to support students in executing complex projects. Additionally, Mia offers social media coaching, helping students effectively showcase their work and build professional portfolios.
