Melissa Phua

Melissa Phua currently serves as the Operations Manager at Singapore GP Pte Ltd, where she plays a pivotal role in orchestrating one of the most high-profile and complex motorsport events in Asia. With her extensive background in large-scale outdoor events and festivals, Melissa brings a hands-on approach to managing the multifaceted operational aspects of the Singapore Grand Prix. Her expertise spans event planning, timeline management, and on-ground execution, ensuring seamless coordination across diverse teams and stakeholders.

In her current role, Melissa oversees critical training and staffing initiatives, including the recruitment, training, and deployment of over 800 ushers from ITE, as well as 60 supervisors responsible for managing these frontline staff. She also manages security operations, coordinating 80 security supervisors and 800 part-time security officers to uphold safety standards throughout the event. Additionally, Melissa is instrumental in recruiting and training 100 entertainment team members, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Her skills in human resource management, resource planning, and customer service are vital in maintaining operational excellence during the high-pressure environment of race days.

Melissa’s background in arts management, complemented by her diploma from Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, enhances her ability to integrate creative event elements with logistical precision. Her proficiency in managing sponsorships, conducting briefings, troubleshooting on event days, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols underscores her comprehensive approach to event operations.
