Markus Teichert currently serves as the Head of Digital Transformation at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, where he leads strategic initiatives to modernize and optimize the company's research and development (R&D) and site management processes through innovative digital solutions. With over 24 years of extensive experience in SAP system implementation, Markus has established himself as a key driver in integrating complex enterprise systems to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity across the organization. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of enterprise resource planning (ERP), quality management, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS), making him a vital asset in Merck’s ongoing digital evolution.

In his role, Markus oversees the digital transformation team, focusing on projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies such as LabVantage and SAP to streamline laboratory workflows, improve data connectivity, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Notably, he has been the project manager for the “Lab Connectivity Stream” within the “SM drives Intelligence” initiative, which aims to enhance laboratory data integration and real-time analytics. His hands-on knowledge of LabVantage 8.6.3, including its architecture and interface capabilities, has been instrumental in designing and implementing seamless integrations between LabVantage and SAP QM systems using Enterprise Connector and QM-IDI. These integrations facilitate efficient materials management, quality control, and validation processes, exemplified by his role as Validation Owner for the RADON LIM system.
