Markus Sperl

Markus Sperl currently serves as Project Manager Research at Technologiestiftung Berlin’s CityLAB Berlin, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing Berlin’s transformation into a smarter, more sustainable, and citizen-focused city. In this capacity, Markus leverages his extensive background in academia and data-driven consulting to coordinate innovative research initiatives and foster collaborative projects that address urban challenges. His leadership in the BMBF-funded project freemove exemplifies his commitment to empowering both private sector actors and public administration to develop sustainable mobility solutions and enhance citizen engagement through digital and social innovations.

At CityLAB, Markus is deeply involved in project coordination, ensuring the seamless execution of research activities, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of academic insights into practical urban development strategies. His expertise in qualitative research, social network analysis, and descriptive statistics enables him to extract actionable insights from complex data sets, supporting evidence-based policymaking and urban planning.
