Mark Stratton Maicd brings over four decades of extensive experience in emergency management, protective security, and community services, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Executive at the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM). In this pivotal leadership role, Mark supports the Chief Executive in shaping strategic direction and operational excellence across South Australia's emergency services sector. His expertise spans disaster recovery, risk management, community resilience, and crisis management, enabling SAFECOM to enhance its capacity to respond effectively to complex emergencies and safeguard public safety.

At SAFECOM, Mark oversees critical functions such as protective security, internal audit and assurance, records and information management, and volunteer services.
