Mark Balilo

Mark Balilo currently serves as a Facility Environmental Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE), where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the company's compliance with a broad spectrum of environmental regulations across more than 100 facilities. His expertise encompasses hazardous materials management, hazardous waste handling, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, Air Pollution Source Assessment (APSA), air quality management, stormwater compliance, and industrial wastewater regulation. In this capacity, Mark leverages his deep understanding of environmental engineering principles to develop and implement effective strategies that mitigate environmental impact while supporting SCE’s operational objectives.

Throughout his tenure, Mark has led key projects focused on optimizing stormwater management systems and enhancing water resource sustainability at multiple facilities. His proficiency in environmental compliance ensures that SCE remains aligned with federal, state, and local regulations, minimizing environmental liabilities and promoting sustainable practices. His hands-on experience with CAD and AutoCAD allows him to contribute to facility design and modification projects, ensuring environmental considerations are integrated into infrastructure planning.

Prior to his current role, Mark served as an Air Quality Specialist, where he was responsible for maintaining air quality compliance and implementing air pollution control measures. His strong problem-solving skills, coupled with his ability to perform complex engineering calculations, have consistently contributed to high-quality project delivery. Mark’s excellent communication skills enable him to effectively collaborate with regulatory agencies, internal teams, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within SCE. His dedication to continuous improvement and sustainability underscores his commitment to advancing SCE’s environmental stewardship initiatives.
