Lynette Marlow

Lynette Marlow currently serves as the Director at The Severn River, Ngaraabal, and Kwiambal Aboriginal Corporation, where she plays a pivotal role in advancing Indigenous community-led initiatives focused on cultural preservation, placemaking, and social advocacy. Her leadership emphasizes a holistic approach to Indigenous governance, integrating ethnographic research, policy analysis, and community engagement to support the aspirations and rights of the Ngarabal, Kwiambal, and Darug peoples. Lynette’s expertise in record analysis and her skills in ethnography and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) have been instrumental in developing innovative strategies for community record-keeping and ancestral tracing, aligning with her work at Track My Mob, a research company dedicated to assisting Indigenous Australians in reconnecting with their heritage through comprehensive record databases, including NSW photographic gaol records, colonial secretary records, and historical school registers.

Her current role involves overseeing key projects that focus on placemaking and cultural revitalization, leveraging her academic background—recently culminating in a Master of Education (Social Ecology)—to inform culturally sensitive policy development and community-driven research. As she prepares to commence her PhD candidature at the University of New England, her thesis will explore the placemaking journey of the Ngarabul people since colonisation, aiming to contribute valuable insights into Indigenous sovereignty, cultural resilience, and land rights. Lynette’s multidisciplinary skills in research, policy analysis, and hypnotherapy uniquely position her to facilitate meaningful community engagement and foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous histories and contemporary issues. Her work exemplifies a commitment to empowering Indigenous voices through rigorous research, cultural advocacy, and innovative community initiatives.
