About Lori Nix

Lori Nix is a visionary artist and the Chief Photographer and Fabricator at Lori Nix Studio, where she masterfully blends her passion for photography with her unique background in art education and history. Growing up in the tumultuous landscape of 1970s rural western Kansas, Lori's childhood experiences with natural disasters—tornados, floods, blizzards, and droughts—have profoundly influenced her artistic perspective. Rather than viewing these events with fear, she embraced them as catalysts for creativity, shaping her narrative style and thematic choices in her work.

At Lori Nix Studio, she leads a variety of key projects that explore the intersection of still life and environmental storytelling. Her expertise in digital scanning and image editing, particularly through advanced tools like Photoshop, allows her to create intricate, layered compositions that evoke a sense of nostalgia and contemplation. Lori's work often features meticulously crafted dioramas that reflect her fascination with the fragility of human existence in the face of nature's unpredictability.

In addition to her photographic endeavors, Lori is deeply committed to art education, sharing her insights and techniques through workshops and exhibitions. Her contributions to the art community extend beyond her studio, as she actively participates in art exhibitions that showcase her innovative approach to photography and fabrication. By merging traditional artistic practices with contemporary digital techniques, Lori Nix continues to inspire both emerging artists and seasoned professionals, making her a prominent figure in the realm of fine art photography.
