About Loren Knipp

Loren Knipp has been a dedicated Animal Care Technician at the Humane Society of West Michigan since 2021, bringing over three years of hands-on experience in animal welfare and shelter operations. With a deep-rooted passion for animal care that began in her personal life and was further cultivated through volunteer work, Loren has become an invaluable asset to the organization. In her current role, she is responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including administering subcutaneous injections and topical medications, ensuring that each animal receives the necessary medical attention and care they require.

Loren’s expertise extends beyond basic animal care; she plays a pivotal role in maintaining a sanitary environment that is crucial for disease management and the overall well-being of the animals. Her commitment to enriching the lives of shelter animals is evident in her daily activities, which include not only feeding and exercising the animals but also implementing mental stimulation techniques to promote their emotional health.

In addition to her hands-on responsibilities, Loren has taken on a mentorship role, training new volunteers and staff members in best practices for animal care.
