About Kye Deuters

Kye Deuters is a dedicated Media Consultant at the University of Guelph, where he leverages his academic background and passion for media representation to enhance the Canadian Dietitian History website. With a strong foundation in the humanities, highlighted by his thesis on the depiction of illness in eighteenth-century graphic satire, Kye brings a unique perspective to his role. His current project involves the curation of a virtual media collection that encompasses over 130 digitized photographs and graphics, each meticulously selected to reflect the rich tapestry of Canadian dietetic history. This endeavor not only showcases Kye's expertise in digitization and museum collections but also emphasizes his commitment to ensuring that the virtual media collection adheres to accessibility standards, making it inclusive for all users.

Kye's collaborative approach is evident as he works closely with his supervisor and colleagues, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and creativity. His skills in editing and communication play a crucial role in crafting engaging narratives around the visual materials, while his proficiency in tools like Collective Access and Qualtrics ensures that the collection is organized and user-friendly. As he prepares to further his education with a Master of Library & Information Science degree at Western University, Kye is poised to deepen his expertise in information management and digital curation. His work at the University of Guelph not only reflects his academic achievements but also his dedication to preserving and promoting the history of dietetics in Canada, making him a valuable asset to the field.
