Kathryn Duben

Kathryn Duben currently serves as a key member of the South Carolina Army National Guard in the role of Operations Support, where she leverages her extensive military technical expertise to enhance mission readiness and operational effectiveness. With a solid foundation built over a decade as an Air Defense Battle Management System Operator, Kathryn has honed her skills in managing and operating sophisticated military computer systems, complex networks, and advanced radar systems such as the Sentinel Radar. Her experience ensures the seamless integration and coordination of air defense assets, providing critical warning, detection, and protection against aerial threats and missile attacks.

In her current role, Kathryn applies her comprehensive knowledge of command and control (C2) systems, including FAAD C2I Shelter operations, AMDWS V6.4.2.1, and LSTAR (V)2, to support strategic planning and real-time decision-making processes. Her expertise in RF links network operations, particularly with MIDS/JTIDS, enhances secure communications across multi-domain platforms. Kathryn’s background in operating and maintaining complex systems, coupled with her active DoD Secret Clearance, enables her to troubleshoot, optimize, and sustain mission-critical equipment under demanding conditions.

Her key projects often involve integrating emerging technologies into existing defense frameworks, ensuring interoperability, and enhancing situational awareness for the National Guard. Kathryn’s dedication to continuous learning—evidenced by her specialized training courses such as the Avenger Crew Member Course and the AMDWS System Admin course—underscores her commitment to operational excellence. Her technical proficiency, combined with her leadership and strategic insight, makes her a vital asset in supporting the South Carolina Army National Guard’s mission to defend and secure the nation’s airspace.
