Jolanda Strubel

Jolanda Strubel brings a wealth of expertise in clinical data management and software support, underpinned by her extensive experience working across various facets of health data. Currently serving as the Programme Manager for FAIR data at Health-RI, she plays a pivotal role in advancing data interoperability and accessibility within the Dutch healthcare ecosystem. Her primary focus is on establishing and promoting best practices for making healthcare data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR), particularly within regional hospital networks and academic institutions. Jolanda is instrumental in identifying and disseminating regional FAIRification strategies, such as the Metroline FAIRification steps, which streamline the process of transforming clinical and research data into FAIR-compliant formats.

In her role, she is also leading efforts to develop and implement a robust onboarding process for (meta)data into the Dutch National Health Data Catalogue. This initiative enhances data discoverability and facilitates seamless data sharing across research institutions, hospitals, and regulatory bodies. Her background in clinical trials, including expertise in electronic data capture (EDC), case report form (CRF) design, and clinical trial management systems (CTMS), complements her current responsibilities by ensuring that data management practices align with industry standards such as GCP, ICH-GCP, and CRO requirements.

Jolanda’s involvement in the FAIRplus project, where she served as a squad member and later as a squad lead, underscores her leadership in the field of data stewardship and FAIR data principles. Her skill set, encompassing databases, JIRA, and life sciences, positions her as a key driver in fostering a data-sharing culture that accelerates research, improves patient outcomes, and supports innovation in healthcare.
