John Knowles-Kellett currently serves as a Program Support Specialist at Western Maryland Resource Conservation and Development, where he plays a vital role in advancing sustainable land management and environmental conservation initiatives. In this position, he collaborates closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to administer and support key programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). His expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allows him to analyze spatial data effectively, supporting project planning, resource mapping, and environmental impact assessments that are crucial for informed decision-making and strategic conservation efforts.

John’s diverse background in environmental and service sectors, combined with his recent graduation in Sustainability and certification in GIS, equips him with a comprehensive understanding of ecological systems, climate resilience, and community engagement. His experience in youth mentoring, fundraising, and construction further enhances his ability to coordinate multifaceted projects that promote environmental justice and equitable access to conservation resources. At Western Maryland RC&D, he is actively involved in developing innovative solutions to address local environmental challenges, such as habitat restoration, sustainable agriculture, and land use planning.
