John Gurcam brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience in the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record spanning Houston, Calgary, Brazil, Dubai, and Singapore. Currently serving as the EPC Package Manager at MODEC, John plays a pivotal role in leading the engineering, procurement, and construction of FPSO topsides modules for ExxonMobil projects. His expertise encompasses managing complex EPC scope activities, ensuring seamless integration of process equipment, subsea systems, and offshore facilities to meet project specifications and stringent safety standards.

In his current role, John oversees multidisciplinary teams across global locations, coordinating detailed engineering, procurement, and fabrication efforts with shipyards and fabrication yards specializing in offshore process plants. His leadership ensures the delivery of high-quality FPSO modules, including process modules, heat exchangers, pumps, and other critical process equipment, on time and within budget. His deep understanding of offshore drilling, subsea systems, and upstream oil & gas operations enables him to effectively mitigate risks and optimize project performance during all phases—from design through commissioning and start-up.

John’s extensive background in project management, contracts, supply chain logistics, and subcontract management complements his technical expertise, allowing him to navigate the complexities of greenfield and brownfield offshore developments, FPSO, and FLNG projects. His strategic approach to project pursuit and business development has contributed significantly to MODEC’s reputation for delivering innovative, reliable offshore solutions.
