Joel Debusschere

Joel Debusschere currently serves as the Head of Functional and Application Architecture and IS Strategy at Société Générale, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s technological landscape to support its strategic objectives. In this capacity, Joel leads a multidisciplinary team within the Business Solution Center on Compliance & Risks IT, focusing on designing and implementing robust, scalable, and innovative IT architectures that underpin critical risk management and compliance functions. His expertise in financial risk, risk management, and banking allows him to align IT strategies with the bank’s regulatory requirements and business goals, ensuring that technological solutions effectively mitigate operational and market risks.

Throughout his tenure, Joel has spearheaded key projects aimed at modernizing the bank’s risk infrastructure, integrating advanced analytics, and enhancing the agility of compliance systems. His deep understanding of capital markets, derivatives, and investment banking enables him to develop tailored IT architectures that support complex trading and risk assessment processes.
