About Isake Smith

Isake Smith currently serves as an Innovation Consultant at Langston League, where she leverages her extensive background in justice, equity, and inclusion to drive transformative initiatives within educational contexts. With a profound commitment to uplifting marginalized voices, Isake is particularly focused on the intersectionality of Black womanist scholarship and grassroots queer organizing. Her current project, Kinfolk, is an innovative augmented reality (AR) app designed to illuminate the contributions of overlooked historical figures, particularly those from underrepresented communities. In her role, Isake leads the equitable content development and user experience iteration, ensuring that the app not only educates but also resonates with diverse audiences.

Isake’s expertise extends beyond content creation; she is adept at community outreach and volunteer management, skills honed through her previous experience designing and coaching youth rowing programs. This unique blend of educational and athletic leadership has equipped her with a nuanced understanding of how to engage and inspire young people, particularly in contexts that prioritize social justice. Her proficiency in Spanish further enhances her ability to connect with a broader demographic, making her an invaluable asset in fostering inclusive environments. Through her work at Langston League, Isake continues to champion initiatives that promote equity and inclusion, drawing on her passion for social justice to create meaningful change in the educational landscape.
