OPS Veterinary Care Technician at University of Florida | Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States

About Eren Mir

Eren Mir is currently making significant strides in the field of veterinary medicine as a Veterinary Technician at the Humane Society of North Central Florida. In this multifaceted role, Eren is immersed in various aspects of animal care, rotating between shelter medicine, a low-cost clinic, and Petsnip, where high-volume spay/neuter operations are conducted. This hands-on experience not only enhances Eren's technical skills but also deepens their understanding of animal health and welfare, particularly in underserved communities.

At the Humane Society, Eren is actively involved in critical projects aimed at improving the health outcomes of shelter animals. This includes administering vaccinations, assisting in surgical procedures, and providing post-operative care, all while ensuring a compassionate approach to animal handling. Eren's dual background in General Psychology and Animal Science equips them with a unique perspective on animal behavior, enabling them to better understand the psychological needs of the animals they care for. This expertise is particularly beneficial in a shelter environment, where stress and anxiety can impact an animal's well-being.

Eren’s proficiency in both English and Spanish allows for effective communication with a diverse clientele, enhancing the quality of care provided to pet owners in the community. Their commitment to animal welfare is further reflected in their involvement in educational outreach programs, where they promote responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering. As Eren continues to develop their skills in veterinary medicine, they are poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of animals and the community at large, embodying the mission of the Humane Society of North Central Florida.
