Edwin Gortjes

Edwin Gortjes currently serves as a SAP Functional Consultant specializing in Procure to Pay (P2P) processes at Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA), part of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. In this role, he plays a pivotal part in supporting the university’s integrated SAP environment, ensuring seamless procurement workflows and financial operations. His expertise encompasses incident management, change management, and the successful execution of strategic projects aimed at optimizing procurement and financial processes within the university's SAP landscape. Edwin’s deep understanding of SAP configuration, logistics management, and inventory control enables him to deliver tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

One of Edwin’s key contributions involves collaborating closely with both HvA and the University of Amsterdam (UvA), leveraging their shared backoffice to streamline procurement activities and improve data integrity across SAP modules such as SD and SAP BW. His experience with SAP ERP, SAP NetWeaver, and segregation of duties ensures robust controls and adherence to SOX 404 standards, safeguarding financial integrity. Recently, Edwin was an integral part of the summer 2023 project team that focused on optimizing the Procure to Pay cycle, implementing process improvements, and enhancing SAP system configurations to better support university procurement needs.
