Devin Schellenberg

Devin Schellenberg currently serves as the Department Head for Radiation Oncology at BC Cancer’s Surrey Centre, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing the institution’s radiation therapy programs. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing and expanding BC Cancer’s provincial Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) program, which has significantly improved treatment options for patients with early-stage lung, liver, and pancreatic tumors. Devin’s expertise in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) allows him to deliver highly precise, high-dose treatments that maximize tumor control while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

In addition to his clinical duties, Devin is deeply involved in clinical research initiatives at local, national, and international levels. His research focuses on optimizing SABR protocols and exploring innovative applications, such as the emerging use of SABR for cardiac arrhythmias, which exemplifies his commitment to pushing the boundaries of radiation oncology. As the radiation oncology coordinator for the Canadian Lung Cancer Conference, Devin also contributes to shaping national guidelines and fostering collaboration among thoracic oncology specialists.

His comprehensive skill set encompasses not only advanced techniques in stereotactic body radiation but also a broad understanding of cancer treatment modalities across lung, gastrointestinal, and hematologic malignancies.
