Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology (FERIT Osijek) establishment resulted from the establishment of a study of electromechanical engineering in Osijek which dates back to the year 1979 and was initiated due to need for stronger social and economic development of the Slavonia-Baranja region. Despite of their natural and comparative advantages over other parts of Croatia, Slavonia and Baranja have been failing to meet the standards of the Republic of Croatia in terms of economy for decades. There are several reasons for such inferiority, among which there is a lack of human resources regarding electrical and computer engineers. Moreover, the development of an area is proportional to the development of a technological culture and available technological knowledge which is calculated from the number of respective engineers. We are proud of celebrating our 30th anniversary with an area of over 5,000 m2 situated at 2b Trpimir Street and a new area of 3,000 m2 (classrooms, labs and teachers offices) located in the new university campus (Emperor Hadrian Street), and with new laboratory and teaching equipment and 30 professors with a philosophers degree and 35 masters of both science and arts and junior researchers. Therefore, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering can actively participate in university education and realization of professional and scientific projects.
