Viridis Energy (TSXV:VRD) is a Canadian renewable energy manufacturing company specializing in wood pellet biomass. Biomass is a widely accepted and clean alternative to burning coal in order to generate electricity. This low carbon generation method is sustainable and unlike solar and wind, can be relied upon as baseload power. This demand also includes the use of wood pellets for home heating, district heating and CHPs (combined heat and power units). With two manufacturing facilities in Canada and an aggregation business in the U.S., the company has annual capacity of over 300,000 tons. The Okanagan Pellet Company, based in BC produces a high quality premium pellet for the residential market. We offer three brands of Okanagan Pellets(tm), which are among the top brands in the residential markets. Our second facility, Scotia Atlantic Biomass, is based in Nova Scotia and has the capacity to produce up to 120,000 tons annually. This facility currently produces industrial pellets for power generation. Viridis Merchants is the brokerage arm and has contracts with several pellet producers in North America.
