Universal Marketing Services was started in Florida in May 1987 by three vivacious women, two sisters Ruth & Shirley and their best friend Vivian. Started in their garage; sorting coupons and building relationships with retailers and manufacturers alike. They grew the company to over 500 manufacturers in mostly the healthy natural products, CPG, and health and beauty product sectors; working with manufacturers looking to grow their brands through incentive marketing efforts. The next generation stepped in as their sons took over the operation. David, Ruth’s son was next in line to the coupon throne, joined briefly by Vivian’s son Josh. They worked hard developing the rebate and sweepstakes programs, and entering the age of computer technology. Fast-forward to the 3rd generation stepping in, Stephanie starting working at Universal after college graduation in 2008, working beside her father, learning the ins and outs of the business and a tour through the high technology marketing start-up culture of her generation. Rachel, David’s other daughter, joined the family band of couponers and is adding a fresh perspective to this long standing business; with a focus on HR and operations she is determined to see Universal thrive greater than ever. We’re going back to our roots; as a 100% women owned and operated business; we take pride in everything our family has worked hard to build. In-fact most of our staff has been with Universal for 10+ years, making them a valued part of our family (business).
