UChicago Financial Education Initiative

Launched to develop the tools, resources, and capacity to spread robust financial education across America. The Financial Education Initiative is a partnership between Magnetar Capital and the University of Chicago. It is housed at UChicago STEM Education. We invite high school teachers that are passionate about making an impact on students’ financial lives as they move into the real world to teach our course. The course is a research-based, semester-long financial education curriculum that helps high school students prepare for a successful financial future. The course provides multiple opportunities for practice and reflection about financial decision-making, through simulations, scenarios, and real-life tasks. The program fosters the skills and dispositions that students and teachers need to be lifelong financial learners.
