The SUPERFRAC® tray family has been proven through more than 30 years of application in the most demanding fractionation, absorption, and stripping applications. Through sustained investment in research and development, Koch‐Glitsch continues to improve the performance of the SUPERFRAC tray to meet the future requirements of its customers. Koch‐Glitsch’s most recent development, the SUPERFRAC® XT tray, was developed by extensive and meticulous experimentation in the Koch-Glitsch 1.7 m diameter hydrocarbon tower. The SUPERFRAC XT tray applies our combined hydraulic, separation and mechanical design expertise to maximize the tray’s performance, both in capacity and efficiency. When revamping towers, SUPERFRAC XT trays can maximize the performance of existing assets. Combined with OMNI-FIT® technology, complex revamps can be completed without welding to the tower shell. When specified for new grass roots installations SUPERFRAC XT trays can minimize the vessel diameter, height, and overall investment cost. The SUPERFRAC® XT tray handles the most demanding fractionation services in large diameter towers, which often require complex multiple flow pass designs. In larger diameter columns, typical multi-pass designs are limited to four passes. For applications that require more than four passes, the proprietary multi-pass downcomer design can be used to reduce weir loading and improve the capacity of the column. Koch-Glitsch has successfully designed large diameter columns that use multi-pass design techniques in 6-pass or 8-pass configurations. The unparalleled performance of SUPERFRAC XT trays allows debottlenecking of existing splitters or a reduction in diameter and height for grassroots Ethylene, Propylene, and Xylene splitters. It also allows the energy consumption of these mega towers to be minimized. Whether you are revamping existing equipment or constructing new installations, our trays can handle the toughest demands in large diameter towers.
