The Standby Task Force provides humanitarian organizations with real-time Crisis Mapping support. We're a volunteer-based network of trained crisis mappers who represent the first wave in Online Community Emergency Response Teams. The Standby Task Force was launched at the 2010 International Conference on Crisis Mapping (ICCM 2010) to streamline online volunteer support for crisis mapping following lessons learned in Haiti, Chile and Pakistan, and to provide a dedicated interface for the humanitarian community.
Standby Task Force volunteers are from 103+ different countries and have been involved in crisis mapping projects for Ecuador, Micronesia, Nepal, Vanuatu, West Africa etc.
