"Building Strategic Partnerships"
The Southeast Institute on Homelessness and Supportive Housing is the evolution of Florida's annual statewide institute on homelessness and supportive housing into an event of regional interest and impact. The institute is convened through the collaboration of the Florida Coalition for the Homeless (FCH) and the Florida Supportive Housing Coalition (FLSHC).
The Southeast Institute on Homelessness and Supportive Housing is the fifth joint institute of FCH and FLSHC. Each year the institute is a remarkable success; participants annually provide positive comments and feedback; surveys responses provide high levels of satisfaction with the conference's plenary sessions and workshops. Participants and national presenters routinely comment that this institute rivals events conducted at the national level.
The Institute is "Building Strategic Partnerships" with its effectiveness and success due to the partnerships of the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Florida Department of Education. They are partnering because of the dire need for quality services and housing affordable to those DCF serves and DOE is conducting a tract to enhance educators' ability to address the needs of homeless students.
