Although Rush Street Gaming was formed in 2009, its history goes back to 1996, when Neil Bluhm and Greg Carlin partnered with Hyatt Gaming to pursue a casino development opportunity with the Province of Ontario in Niagra Falls. The group agreed to manage Casino Niagara in 1998 and opened the new permanent casino in Niagara Falls in 2004. Neil and Greg opened the Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 2008 and The Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh in 2009.
With two more casinos on the way in Chicagoland and Philadelphia, Neil and Greg formed Rush Street Gaming to oversee and support their casinos in the United States. In a three year period, Rush Street Gaming hired more than 4,000 permanent team members and deployed over $1.7 billion of capital. Rush Street Gaming now oversees four casinos: The Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Rivers Casino in Des Plaines near Chicago, and Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady.
