Since 1985 the name Rey’s Pizza has been synonymous with phrases such as “Y sigo siendo el Rey,” (I am still the King), voted as “The best Cuban Pizza in the United States,” by the group Three Guys from Miami, and has been a Street “Elite” award winner. Pizza Today discovered Rey’s Pizza in 2000, and Steve Coomes, wrote, “Rey’s Pizza chain is a Miami Food fiefdom.” Additionally, he points out that; “Where Rey’s Pizza is different is in its cheeses. With the first bite, it’s clear there’s more than mozzarella in the mix. Beneath the uniquely sharp flavor is a sturdier-than-normal mouth-feel.” The first Rey’s Pizza was purchased in 1985 in Miami, Florida, by Ramón Rodriguez. Under Ramón Rodriguez, the business has grown from a single store in Miami, to a multi-store company of great pizza and spaghetti with headquarters in Miami, Florida.
