AIMS & OBJECTIVES

1 The aim of the Group shall be:

• To give a ‘voice’ to the Polish Community in Wakefield District
• To offer support, advice and signposting to the Polish Community
• To offer social activities to promote community cohesion, raise awareness of Polish culture and promote integration
• To help in reducing unemployment, anti-social behaviour and some health problems for Polish residents


2 The group shall seek to achieve these aims by:

• Actively promoting the group in the Wakefield District through events and publicity
• Working together with local statutory and voluntary organisations in the Wakefield District to overcome barriers for Polish residents
• Cooperating with local statutory organizations and services to help them to achieve their goals regarding Polish residents, such as reducing unemployment, anti-social behaviour and some health problems
• Organising and planning social activities and events in the community to share cultural skills and knowledge with other community groups
• Organising more accessible English lessons
• Helping and supporting Polish businesses.
• Organising Polish language and Polish Culture Lessons
• Opening a Polish Centre.
