The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada was formed to represent contractors in labour relations matters and to establish training courses for the development of Canadian workers in special pipeline construction skills.
Over the years the scope of the Association has broadened to include occupational health and safety, legislative review, pipeline standards and codes and a host of other activities.
The PLCAC does NOT recruit for frontline pipeline professionals. The companies who are Regular Members of PLCAC work with four international building trade unions. The building trade unions work with the Regular Member companies to staff requirements for craft skills and trades, including unionized pipe trades, welders, heavy equipment operators, transport operators, and associated skilled craft labour.
