National Maritime Safety Authority - NMSA

The National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA) was established by an Act of Parliament in 2003. The Authority commenced its operation on the 1st of January 2006, as a not for profit public body on a self sustaining basis, reporting to the NMSA Board and the Minister for Transport. The General Manager runs the day to day operations of the organization through a corporate structure of divisions headed by Executive Managers who report directly to him. There is a 5 year Corporate Plan implemented under the Authority of the National Maritime Safety Authority Act and other National Maritime Legislations, and in accordance with International Maritime Conventions to which the Independent State of Papua New Guinea is a party.
