NATIONAL ASIAN PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION

In 1980, a small group of Asian Peace Officers met in San Francisco wanting to establish equal representation, self-enpowerment, and a reliable network on a national scale. These pioneers were the late Jefferson Parish/LA Sheriff Harry Lee, Paul Chu and Eugene Lee from New York City PD, Ben Lee and Randy Kwan from Los Angeles PD, Arnold Lui from Berkeley PD, and Bryon Wong from the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. These pioneers, respectfully representing the Asian Jade Society of NYPD, the California Asian Peace Officers Association, and the Northern California Asian Peace Officers Association, formally called this group, the National Asian Peace Officers Association (NAPOA). Because of their early, proud, and fierce efforts, NAPOA grew into twenty-three chapters throughout the United States and an affiliate with Asian Peace Officers in Toronto, Canada. Besides providing up to date skills training with our annual training conferences, we provide a forum for our members to promote and take leadership positions in their respective agencies and departments. We also produce Career Fairs in conjunction with our training conferences so the public and those keenly interested in careers in law enforcement are well-informed and are introduced to our association and our goals.We also participate in the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Training Conference spreading the word about who we are and what Asian Peace Officers, local, state, and federal, bring to this most honorable careers we call law enforcement.On August 15-18 2016, NAPOA's Annual Training Conference, Exposition & Career Fair will be held at the Westin Times Square Hotel, Manhattan, New York City.
