Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, is a prominent institution of higher learning in Nigeria, established in April 2001. The inception of KUST was championed by the former governor, His Excellency Engr. Dr. Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, who set up the university implementation committee in January 2000, led by Engr. Dr. (now Professor) Umar Garba Danbatta. Initially, KUST comprised two faculties: the Faculty of Science and Science Education and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

Aliko Dangote GCON was appointed as the second Chancellor by His Excellency Dr. Malam Ibrahim Shekarau. Mahmoud (SAN), who is also the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, continues to guide the university towards excellence.
